Alan Aitken was raised on the edge of the northern suburbs of Perth.  As a grey nomad, he now lives in a caravan and travels around the state.  When he is not assisting on farms and stations he helps out and performs at music festivals.

 

As a born and bred Aussie he has always been interested in Australiana.  His interest in Bush poetry really started when he heard someone recite Turbulence at a function in 2009.  He joined the WA Bush Poets in 2011 and started the Bunbury Bush Poets Group in December 2012.  From the initial meeting of 4 people this branch of the WA Bush Poets is still going strong with 15 to 20 people attending each meeting.

 

He is a reciter of bush poetry and has a broad repertoire of poems from classic to modern and from serious through humorous to very funny.  Available to perform at function such as weddings, social events and as a guest speaker.
