Just a Butt

Was just a butt I tossed away.

I know Iíve often heard you say,

ďThatís all it needs, one tiny spark,

To start a fire, to burn a park.Ē

But I just didnít think that far;

I flicked that butt out from the car

And drove away quite unaware

That single butt lay smouldíring there.

A seed, that in a few short hours

Had grown to massive flaming flowers,

Consuming all, as on it grew

Livestock, trees and houses too.

Destruction, total in its wake.

I find itís just too much to take.

I canít believe I caused today.

Was just a butt - I threw away.
