Please note that Members listed on this page or recommended by our organisation are all performers of high standard and integrity, their poetry is generally suitable for all,  however, please be aware  that some Bush Poetry, including that of an earlier time, does contain some mild swearing,  reference to bodily functions and political incorrectness.   If such language may cause offence, please tell the poet so that suitable poems are performed.
Roger started writing Bush Poetry twelve years ago, having been inspired by his travels round Australia and visits to Tamworth. He has been presenting his Poetry to the public for a few years and is a regular at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival and various Caravan Parks around W.A. and anywhere he can get an audience. Roger writes all his own poetry which ranges from serious to humorous and has produced two C.D's and a book.  At the 2013 WA State Performance Championships, Roger emerged as the Champion Novice performer of both his own work and that of others.

In 2016, Roger had expanded his repetoire and experience and was Runner-Up State Champion  (Combination of 4 Categories;  Traditional, Modern, and two of your own, serious and humorous).  Based in Geraldton, (but often at other places), you can contact Roger on 0427 625 181  or by email at bushpoetandmissus@bigpond.com
Brian lives in Margaret River.
He was bought up on a dairy farm near Augusta in the late depression years, which, in his words "Gave me a great sense of the wonderful things life has to offer". After a couple of years at high school in Bunbury he spent a while in the Army.  Much of his working life was spent living in the bush in the  south west of  West Australia where he worked as a pine faller.  It was here that his poetic skills developed, much of his poetry being influenced by by the cycles of life and the ebb and flow of the seasons that surrounded him.  In later years, he has become a keen long distance cyclist, travelling the world, meeting people from all walks of life and gathering ideas for his verse. If you are looking for a poet in the Capes region, give Brian a ring on 9757 2431

"What I do today is very important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it"
At the age of 9, Bill found a book of Banjo Patterson's poetry. It started a life long love of bush verse and now in his latter years he can devote more time to learning and performing material penned by the great poets past and present.

Being a farmer, Bill has lots of opportunities to experience bush culture, and this love of the bush is reflected now in his own poems, which are mostly humorous anecdotes about the characters found in rural and remote Australia.

His performing days started round the campfire over a few beers and this led to appearances at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival. He now co-ordinates the Bush Poetry section of this festival, which has grown over the last four years to an audience of 2000, one of the largest in Australia.

The word is out and Bill is now in demand in various centres throughout the South West of WA, including Albany, Denmark, Kalgoorlie, Esperance and Kojonup. He has also performed at the Wireless Hill Australia Day ceremony. As well as Banjo Patterson and other traditional poets, His repertoire includes contemporary poets such as Bob Magor, Murray Hartin and Jack Drake.

He has recently started writing his own poetry on a wide range of experiences, from family celebrations to the challenge of driving around France on the wrong side of the road.

Bill was awarded Runner-up in the 2011 WA State Championships held in February in Boyup Brook. He went on to gain further valuable experience in the Man From Snowy River Festival at Corryong (Vic) in April 2011. In 2009 he also performed at the Gympie Muster.
Not only that, but Bill now has his own web page    you can see it all at  www.billgordon.com.au

As well as taking on the role as President of the WA Bush Poets, Bill is the organiser / coordinator of the several Bush Poetry events which take place in conjunction with the Annual (February) WA Country Music Festival at Boyup Brook, including the biggest Bush Poetry event on the WA Calendar, the Sunday morning Bush Poets Brekky where over 2000 people get up early to come along and see the best Bush Poets in WA, along with some very high class performers from eastern parts.   Bill has come a long way in recent years, and is now not only performing traditional verse but is writing his own.  He was runner up Champion Bush Poet in the 2011 WA Championships.  Contact Bill at northlands@wn.com.au   or phone  97651098 evenings.
I am mainly a reciter but put some of my poetry to music. I am still building on my repertoire learning new poems all the time. I have performed with prominent poets at Boyup Brook, Tamworth and other festivals. Australian champions have encouraged me but so far I haven't pulled a rabbit out of a hat.

My performance is mainly modern work doing Marco Gliori, Murray Hartin, Mick Collis,Keith Lethbridge,Melanie Hall,David Burman,Bob Magor and various others.

In 2011 and 2017 I won the "poets brawl" in Boyup Brook. I have also performed [as a guest] with Pixie Jenkins. Pixie recorded me doing ''"Rindercella" and sometimes plays it on his Sunday morning radio show in Queensland.

I live in the Peel Region at North Yunderup. Can be contacted gun.hink@hotmail.com or mobile 0417099676. No distance too far.
